The motive of the essay is to impress upon the reader how the political arena was and still is unfavorable for the growth and development of scientific study in Muslim World and how the situation was different in the West. Starting with the Golden Age of Muslim civilization and moving all the way to modern times, this essay will argue how the political setup shaped the two civilizations as they are today.
